Using tried and tested structures and components, the time spent on testing and development was reduced. <br>The body was built by Socofer and all components were assembled at the CFD workshops in Montmirail. <br>Put into service in early 1984 after brief testing (the technology was already well established in Corsica), the X 241 railcar spent its entire career in Romorantin, providing service between Lu\u00e7ay-le-M\u00e2le and Salbris. Capable of 85 km\/h, it was nevertheless limited to 70 km\/h by the infrastructure. <br>Its arrival significantly improved passenger comfort and accompanied the reorganisation of the Blanc-Argent line, with the closure of the Buzan\u00e7ais \u2013 Lu\u00e7ay-le-M\u00e2le section and better connections in Salbris under the aegis of the SNCF. <br>In 1991, the line became part of the TER Centre network and the X 242 adopted a white and blue livery. <br>Finally renovated in 2009-2010, it could have continued to run for a long time... but the arrival of the DAAT in 2015 sealed its fate, with the X 241 making its last journey on 13 June. <br><br>It joined the Train du Bas-Berry fleet in 2019.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mat\u00e9riel moteur \u2013 AutorailConstruit en 1983Statut : En Service Histoire et description Le X 241 se pr\u00e9sente comme une \u00e9volution des X 5000 des CFC (livraison 1980-1981) adapt\u00e9 aux conditions d&rsquo;exploitation de la ligne du BA.
