Organised jointly by the Train du Bas-Berry and the Vélorail de Valençay, our Vélotorail offers a unique opportunity to combine a rail bike ride with a short trip on a historic railcar. An unforgettable afternoon to spend with family or friends.
These Vélotorails are organised every Sunday from Sunday 19 July to Sunday 16 August 2026 and last about 3½ hours.
There are two options available:
Departure from Valençay station at 3.30 pm for an 11 km journey aboard an electric-assisted rail bike in a bucolic and joyful atmosphere. After a spectacular final descent through the Bois du Foy, you will arrive at Luçay le Mâle station where you can visit the station and enjoy some refreshments. Our 1951 X224 railcar will then be waiting to take you to Ecueillé. Upon arrival, you can visit our workshops and buy some souvenirs before taking the train back to Luçay. A few pedal strokes will then take you back to Valençay.
For families, aboard the historic railcar, you can get off at the Étang de La Foulquetière and spend about 50 minutes by the water (there is a playground for children) before taking the train back to Luçay le Mâle. Just let the train conductor know when you board at Luçay.
Would you prefer to depart from Ecueillé? No problem! The X224 railcar will pick you up at 3:45 p.m. after you have visited the site and bought some souvenirs. If you arrive a little early, you can even watch the departure of the regular steam train to Argy. At Luçay station, which you can visit and perhaps enjoy some refreshments, electric rail bikes will take you on a 5 km journey to the Gauterie stop. After a quick turnaround, you will return to Luçay to board the railcar that will take you back to Ecueillé.
